Wilmington, DE (April 27, 2017) - Lex Machina has released its Hatch Waxman/ ANDA Litigation report. Using data compiled via Lex Machina’s Legal Analytics® platform, the third annual study focuses on patent litigation related to Abbreviated New Drug Applications (ANDAs) submitted to the FDA under the Hatch-Waxman Act.  The report provides litigators with trends and data-driven insights from 2,646 ANDA cases filed in U.S. district courts between January 1, 2009 and March 31, 2017.

Wilmington, DE (March 24, 2017) - Last night at a ceremony in Washington, DC, Managing Intellectual Property named Morris, Nichols, Arsht & Tunnell LLP partner Jack B. Blumenfeld “Outstanding IP Litigator” for Delaware. Wilmington, DE (March 1, 2017) - INSOL International published the Special Report titled “Office-holder Remuneration: Some International Comparisons” by Eric Baijal of BBM Solicitors, Scotland with country chapters provided by 14 individual contributors. Eric Schwartz, Morris Nichols Business Reorganization & Restructuring Group partner, is the country contributor for the United States. The report analyses and compares the way in which 14 different jurisdictions around the world approach the common issue of office-holder remuneration. On Thursday, February 9, Justice Randy J. Holland announced his retirement, ending a 30-year tenure of service on the closely-watched Delaware Supreme Court bench.

Wilmington, DE (February 6, 2017) - Morris Nichols successfully represented Terminal Investment Limited SARL (“TiL”) as lead counsel in its cross-border acquisition from Hanjin Shipping Co., Ltd. (“Hanjin”) of a controlling stake in Total Terminals International, LLC (“TTI”), a Delaware limited liability company which operates two marine terminals on the U.S. West Coast.  The complex deal successfully closed on February 1, 2017.

In an article titled, “Delaware Revamps Unclaimed Property After Lawsuits,” Morris Nichols partner Michael Houghton spoke with Bloomberg BNA about unclaimed property legislation enacted by Delaware Gov. John Carney on February 2, 2017. “This is an absolute and complete revision of the Delaware law,” he said. “The entire Delaware unclaimed program statute has been rewritten.”

Wilmington, DE (January 27, 2017) - Today, The M&A Advisor announced the winners of the 11th Annual Turnaround Awards. Morris, Nichols, Arsht & Tunnell LLP was recognized in two categories for restructuring work and for reorganization in the energy sector.

In an article published by The New Journal titled, “State Overhauling Unclaimed Property Law,” Morris Nichols partner and ULC drafting committee co-chair Michael Houghton described the legislation as a step in the right direction. “My view is that it is not perfect, but I don’t want perfect to be the enemy of the good,” Houghton said. “And it’s good in many respects.”
