Mergers & Acquisitions 2017: Advanced Trends and Developments
From January 12-13, 2017, the Practising Law Institute hosts a two-day conference focusing on M&A trends and developments in New York City.
On day one, Morris Nichols partner Patricia Vella participates in the panel, “Negotiating the Public Company Merger Agreement.” Moderated by Steven M. Haas (Hunton & Williams LLP), Tricia and co-panelists Joel I. Greenberg (Kaye Scholer LLP) and Stephen M. Kotran (Sullivan & Cromwell) will discuss issues relating to deal protections, social arrangements in mergers-of-equals, MAE definitions and potential pitfalls.
In the afternoon, Tricia will participate in a discussion on “Women & M&A” moderated by Jennifer Muller (Houlihan Lokey). Tricia and fellow speakers Jane D. Goldstein (Ropes & Gray), Hon. Tamika R. Montgomery-Reeves (Delaware Chancery Court), Lucy Ricca (Center on the Legal Profession, Stanford Law School) will explore issues affecting the participation and retention of female lawyers in M&A, discuss how to educate female law students about the profession, provide tools to help women overcome barriers in the M&A industry, and discuss concrete steps that can be taken by law firms to make a material change.
