Two Morris Nichols Attorneys Recognized in Delaware Business Times Delaware 222
Delaware Business Times has announced the 2025 list of Delaware 222 honorees. This is the second annual guide of the First State’s “most impactful business, nonprofit and government leaders.” Morris Nichols attorneys William Lafferty and Michael Houghton both appear on the 2025 list.
Bill is the chair of Morris Nichols’ executive committee and focuses his practice on corporate and commercial litigation, with emphasis on disputes before the Delaware Court of Chancery and the Delaware Supreme Court. A lifelong Delawarean, he also serves on the Board of Trustees of his alma mater, the University of Delaware, among other board roles.
Mike is a retired partner, and was recently named a commissioner of the Delaware River and Bay Authority. For decades, he has represented governmental entities, banks, trust companies, insurance companies and public utilities in commercial transactions, before regulatory authorities and in legislative matters. In December 2024, Governor Carney awarded Mike the Order of the First State, the highest honor a governor can award to a Delawarean. Throughout his career, Mike has served in numerous leadership roles with both Delaware and national business and professional organizations and has been active in Delaware politics for more than 35 years.
