This holiday season, Morris Nichols is pleased to announce it has made donations to two local nonprofits in support of their work benefiting Delawareans: The firm has donated $20,000 to Innocence Project Delaware and $10,000 to the Mental Health Association in Delaware.

“The holiday season is a time of giving. We are honored to support Innocence Project’s important legal justice work in Delaware,” said Bill Lafferty, chair of Morris Nichols’ executive committee. “Mental health continues to be a significant issue facing the legal profession, and MHA’s commitment to awareness, resources, and removing stigma align with Morris Nichols’ initiatives to foster a culture that supports wellness.”

Innocence Project Delaware (IPD) provides pro bono legal services to investigate and seek relief for claims of wrongful conviction. Founded in 2018, IPD fights to correct and prevent wrongful convictions and ensure justice within the criminal legal system for innocent people in Delaware who are imprisoned for a crime they did not commit.

The Mental Health Association in Delaware (MHA) is a statewide, nonprofit organization founded in 1932 to promote mental health. The organization’s mission is to strengthen knowledge, resources and support around mental health and recovery. Through educational programs, support, and advocacy, MHA promotes improved mental well-being for all individuals and families in Delaware.
