The Legal 500 Identifies Morris Nichols Among Leading U.S. Law Firms for M&A
Wilmington, DE (June 10, 2020) - The Legal 500 United States today released its 2020 edition, ranking Morris, Nichols, Arsht & Tunnell LLP in its nationwide guide to the foremost law firms in the United States.
Legal 500 sources report, “The firm has a great reputation and the attorneys are respected for the results they obtain in representing companies against shareholder litigation in Delaware.” Another source praises Morris Nichols’ “extensive knowledge and expertise in and with Delaware statutes and case law.”
For the sixth year in a row, Morris Nichols appears in the mergers and acquisitions table for “Dispute resolution: M&A: litigation: defense.” In testimonials, clients tell Legal 500, “Morris Nichols has an excellent litigation dispute resolution practice. We are co-counsel in a very complex morass of multiple cases and, at every turn, they have delivered efficient and excellent client service. I trust their handling of every issue, and I refer cases to them whenever asked. They are the best.”
Once again, Morris Nichols appeared in the section dedicated to “M&A/corporate and commercial: Delaware counsel,” with Legal 500 noting the firm is “among the best-known names in the market for comprehensive Delaware law advice.”
In order to highlight a small number of elite U.S. firms with a national presence and sophisticated work, The Legal 500 organizes each practice area into a single national ranking, generally eschewing a state-by-state approach.
The 2020 edition features the work of 17 Morris Nichols attorneys in M&A litigation, corporate and commercial law. In the “Dispute resolution: M&A: litigation: defense” practice area, Bill Lafferty is ranked as “Leading Lawyer” and Ken Nachbar earns “Hall of Fame” recognition awarded to individuals who are at the pinnacle of the profession and have received constant praise from their clients for continued excellence. In the “M&A/corporate and commercial: Delaware counsel” practice area, Lou Hering and Jeff Wolters are named among “Leading Lawyers” and Jason Russell is the sole attorney recognized as a “Next Generation Lawyer.”
