Morris Nichols Partner Maryellen Noreika Nominated to Serve on the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware
Wilmington, DE (December 20, 2017) - Morris, Nichols, Arsht & Tunnell LLP is pleased to announce that today President Trump nominated partner Maryellen Noreika to serve as a judge on the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware.

Ms. Noreika has extensive experience as a litigator, focusing her practice on patent cases across industries including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, consumer products, computers and telecommunications. She has tried more than 30 cases to verdict and has devoted hundreds of pro bono hours as a court appointed guardian ad litem in the Delaware Family Court.
Prior to joining the firm in 1993, Maryellen received her J.D. magna cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. With an academic background in the sciences to compliment her work on complex, technical patent cases, she received an M.A. in biology from Columbia University in 1990 and B.S. in biology from Lehigh University in 1988.
If confirmed, Ms. Noreika will fill one of two vacancies on the bench.
