Morris Nichols Contributes to Two Delaware Community Organizations
Morris Nichols is pleased to announce it has made contributions to two Delaware organizations doing outstanding work in our community: Friendship House and Delaware Center for Horticulture. The firm has donated $10,000 to each organization.
“In this holiday season, we reflect on those in need,” said Bill Lafferty, chair of Morris Nichols’ executive committee. “Friendship House and DCH each have a longstanding history of serving our community. We are proud to support their missions.”
Friendship House works with people who are experiencing homelessness, houselessness, or both. For more than 35 years, Friendship House has served more than 12,000 people annually through programs such as its clothing bank, Empowerment Centers, seasonal program Code Purple, and transitional housing.
Since 1977, the Delaware Center for Horticulture has cultivated a greener community by creating and maintaining the first Urban Farm in the city of Wilmington, beautifying public landscapes, planting and advising on the placement of urban trees, mobilizing volunteers, and hosting community events and educational programs. Much of its work occurs in low-income neighborhoods with higher rates of disease, environmental contamination, and poor access to healthy food.
