Wilmington, DE (February 11, 2015) - Yesterday, Docket Navigator released its Year in Review 2014.  The report examines data on patent litigation cases and administrative proceedings to highlight trends throughout the litigation lifecycle, including a look at law firms across the United States that were involved in district court cases in 2014.

Morris, Nichols, Arsht & Tunnell LLP was included in the “Top Patentee Firms” list for number of cases (125 in 2014) and number of litigation milestones (143 in 2014).  In fact, Morris Nichols had the most “litigation milestones” for patentees.  This metric measures events, or milestones, that move the litigation lifecycle forward such as claim construction, summary judgment, or entry of a damage award.

Docket Navigator also reported that Morris Nichols had the highest number of patent cases for accused infringers (192 in 2014).  In addition, Morris Nichols partner Jack B. Blumenfeld appeared at the top of the list of accused infringer attorneys in district court cases (with 114 cases in 2014).  Firm attorneys Karen Jacobs, Maryellen Noreika, Rodger D. Smith II, and Jennifer Ying were also mentioned in the study among top attorneys by number of cases for both accused infringers and patentees.

The findings demonstrate Morris Nichols’ standing as a top patent firm in the industry and a go-to for cases in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware.
