White House Announces District of Delaware Judicial Nominees
On December 20, 2017, the President nominated Maryellen Noreika and Colm F. Connolly to serve as judges on the United States District Court for the District of Delaware. When confirmed, they will fill the vacancies created by Judge Robinson’s retirement and Judge Sleet taking senior status.
Ms. Noreika is a partner at Morris, Nichols, Arsht & Tunnell LLP, where she has been litigating patent cases for nearly twenty-five years. She has extensive experience in cases cutting across many industries, including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, consumer products, computers and telecommunications. She has tried more than 30 cases. She has also devoted hundreds of hours to pro bono matters as a court appointed guardian ad litem in the Delaware Family Court.
Mr. Connolly is a partner at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, where his practice includes commercial and intellectual property litigation, as well as white collar criminal defense work and corporate investigations. He joined Morgan Lewis after serving for eight years as the United States Attorney for the District of Delaware. Prior to becoming U.S. Attorney, Mr. Connolly was a partner at Morris Nichols.
